At The Faculty of Medicine the Department of Clinical Medicine, a position as associate professor full time within health economics is open for appointment as of March 2022 or soon thereafter.


Job description

The vacant position is with the research group Danish Center for Healthcare Improvements (DCHI), which is an application-oriented, interdisciplinary research group. The overall aim of DCHI is to improve patient safety and cost-effectiveness of initiatives within the healthcare sector by providing decision makers with qualified and research-based input for decision-making.

The successful candidate must actively contribute to strengthen DCHI’s profile within health economics. Take part in the research activities of DCHI such as formulate, develop, implement and manage research projects and contribute to attract external funding etc.

Additionally, the successful candidate must demonstrate to have comprehensive knowledge about and experience with carrying out health economic evaluations on a research level. Additionally, experience with the measuring and valuing of health-related outcome measures like quality-adjusted life years and applying these in economic evaluations will be favored.

The appointment includes an obligation to participate in the planning and teaching of relevant courses within health economics including supervision and examination. The courses are on both a basic and an advanced level at the Master programme of Public Health and the Master programme of Medicine with Industrial Specialization, Medical Market Access, at Aalborg University. As the teaching is in English the applicant must document the ability to teach, supervise and assess both written and oral presentations in English.

Qualification requirements

It is presupposed that applicants for the position as associate professor have research qualifications corresponding to the level achieved from a successful employment period as an assistant professor. The applicants must document scientific production at an international level. Furthermore, it is expected that the applicants have received supervision and pedagogical upgrading and a positive written evaluation of their teaching qualifications.

Applicants who can document, already to have carried out research within the topic health economic evaluation will be favored.

  • List of publications that the applicant wishes to be considered. A maximum of 10 publications may be submitted.
  • Description of teaching qualifications.
  • Dissemination including participation in committees, boards etc.

Assessment

An assessment committee will assess all candidates.
