The assistant professor is expected to take a leading role in the local production of components and testing of these for the new tracker detector (ITK) for the Phase II upgrade of the ATLAS experiment at CERN. At the Niels Bohr Institute we are responsible for the production of DC-DC converters for the end of substructure for the whole ITK, as well as testing strip modules produced within the Scandinavian ITK cluster.

We are interested in a candidate who holds a Ph.D. degree in experimental particle physics and has demonstrated experience and aptitude in detector development and/or construction, preferably with the detector technologies relevant to the ITK project.

The assistant professor’s duties will primarily include research, including obligations with regard to publication/scientific communication and research-based teaching with associated examination obligations within. To a limited extent this may also include performance of other duties.

Assessment of applicants will primarily consider their level of documented, internationally competitive research. The ability to attract external funding will be considered together with outreach qualifications. Teaching qualifications are not mandatory but documented teaching qualifications and teaching experience will be considered.
