Charles University, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, represented by the Dean of the Faculty, announces an open competition

for the project New Technologies for Translational Research in Pharmaceutical Sciences /NETPHARM,
Project No.: CZ.02.01.01/00/22_008/0004607,

within the Operation Programme Johannes Amos Commenius (OP JAK), P 1: Research and Development, SO 1.1: Developing and enhancing research and innovation capacities and deploying advanced technologies,

to fill research position:

FaF_VZ2_44: Researcher (senior, Assoc. Prof.), úvazek 0,2 FTE (20 %)

Design and execution of experiments for WP2, publication of results

Place of work: Hradec Králové

Responsibilities:

  • Performs experimental research activity in the relevant field, supervises the research activity of the team's experts, immediately escalates identified risks to a superior position,
  • design and execution of experiments for WP2, publication of results,
  • introduction and application of in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo tests for the study of the transfer of tested substances through biological barriers (gut, placenta, brain),
  • monitoring interactions of the tested molecules with the organism at different levels of its hierarchical organization (e.g. at the level of signalling, production of endogenous molecules or cell lifespan),
  • transcriptomic analysis of selected groups of genes potentially influenced by the tested drug, their processing and interpretation,
  • study of drug interactions in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo,
  • performing parametric and non-parametric statistical analyses, including survival analyses, relapse incidence and consideration of other parameters characterising the tested cohorts,
  • interpretation of data with regard to the possibility of their extrapolation to humans and the development of application potential,
  • presentation and publication of results on an international level,
  • involvement in the preparation of related national and international projects,
  • working on key project activities with emphasis on application potential.

Profile:

A researcher who is more than 7 years beyond the award of his/her academic Ph.D. or its equivalent (ISCED level 8 equivalent)*,

  • completed university doctoral studies (Ph.D. degree) in a field of natural sciences at a university in the Czech Republic or achieved a comparable degree at a foreign university, no later than on the date of commencement of employment,
  • senior researcher H-index ≥ 8, publications in major journals with IF, grant activity, active knowledge of English language (proficiency in spoken and written English),
  • scientific and publication activity in the field of pharmacokinetics, drugs transfer through physiological barriers, drug interactions on membrane transporters and biotransformation enzymes, regulation of expression of membrane transporters and biotransformation enzymes and testing interactions with nuclear receptors,
  • experience with in vitro, ex vivo, in situ and in vivo drug interaction testing,
  • previous experience in genomics and proteomics is an advantage.

The estimated monthly wage: 75 000 Kč (1,0 FTE)

Type of employment contract: for a definite period of the project duration, ie until 29 February 2028.
