MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship 2022 at Masaryk University, Brno – triple chance to get funded in the Czech Republic

Masaryk University (MUNI), a leading Czech university in H2020 and HEU programmes welcomes expressions of interest from researchers who would like to apply for the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships in the field of Evidence-Based Healthcare and Knowledge Translation (Czech Cochrane centre, Czech EBHC JBI centre of excellence, Masaryk University GRADE centre).

Brief information about the mentor

PhDr. Miloslav Klugar, PhD is director and co-founder of the Czech National Centre for Evidence-Based Healthcare and Knowledge Translation and its parts (Cochrane, JBI, GRADE) at IBA, FM, MU. Dr Klugar is Adjunct Associate Professor of Public Health at University of Adelaide. Dr Klugar is scientifically focused on Public Health, specifically on the application and innovation of research methods in the field of Public Health. He is within this field active member of several international method groups within 1) GRADE working group (Public Health, Evidence to Decision, Diagnostic accuracy, Overviews of reviews, Quality Indicators, Non Randomized Studies); 2) Joanna Briggs Institute (Diagnostic test accuracy, Umbrella reviews, Mixed methods reviews); 3) Cochrane (Rapid reviews, GRADE for Cochrane). Dr Klugar is also the Head Methodologist within the Czech National Guidelines project, the Chairman of Czech Medical Society of Hyperbaric and Aviation Medicine and he and his team will organize in the Czech Republic the Global Evidence Summit 2024.

Research intention for postdoc position

Requirements: good knowledge of Public Health (ideally PhD in Public Health or other close fields), English C1, basic knowledge of EBM, Systematic reviews and Clinical Practice Guidelines.

Postdoc will become a member of CEBHC-KT and all its three international collaboration.

Postdoc will register title, protocol and publish one systematic review in Cochrane library within the Public Health node.

Postdoc will register title, protocol and publish three systematic reviews within the JBI database of systematic reviews and implementation reports.

Posdtoc will be working on the meta-research within the concept of “Evidence-Based Research” and method groups mentioned in the mentor’s international method groups. This should result in another at least two publications within Q1. All selected topics will reflect the research need of CEBHC-KT and Czech national guidelines project.

Postdoc will be part of at least two applications within the Horizon Europe.

Postdoc will be involved in the local organising committee for Global Evidence Summit.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should be progressive and ambitious postdoctoral researchers, max 8 years from date of award of their first doctoral degree.

Applicants must not have resided in the Czech Republic for more than 12 months during the last 3 years at the time of the deadline (14th September 2022).
