The Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University announces a selection procedure for the position of the Head of the Department of Finance and Capital Markets at the Institute of Economic Studies.

Job Description:

• creative application of the results of scientific and research activities to pedagogical activities
• mentoring of doctoral students
• conducting specialized lectures and seminars
• serving on committees
• reviewing doctoral and habilitation theses
• expert activities at national and international level

Specific Requirements

We require:

• rank of associate professor or professor in economics, finance or a related field at a school internationally comparable or higher ranked than Charles University (according to ARWU, US News and QS)
• high quality publications in highly ranked journals (Q1 and Q2 according to AIS according to Web of Science) in Economics, Business-Finance or related fields, falling under FORD 5.2 Economics and Business
• highly advanced knowledge of academic English
• excellent knowledge of Czech language in spoken and written form

• a concept for the development of the Department for the period 2024 - 2028, which will include, in particular, the concept of teaching and research activities and the outlook for development in the personnel area of the Department
