Offer Description

Job description

An ERC Consolidator grant-funded postdoc position is available in the group of Dr. Matyáš Fendrych at the Institute of Experimental Botany, Academy of Sciences, Prague, Czechia. The major experimental focus of the project is finding how the rapid auxin effects regulate morphogenesis of plant organs, and to understand the molecular details of auxin signaling in plants. The project will revolve around the dynamics of cell wall pH, calcium signaling and auxin signaling during key morphogenetic events in Arabidopsis and in the grass Brachypodium distachyon. The exact nature of the project will be tailored to the candidate depending on their background, skills, and interests. Funding: ERC Consolidator grant MORpH (September 2024 – 2030)

About the lab and IEB institute

The team of Matyáš Fendrych (https://pm.ueb.cas.cz/ ) is a group of young enthusiasts who focus on the dynamics of morphogenesis in plants. We combine advanced microscopy methods with molecular biological tools to grasp the molecular processes that steer plant development.

The Institute of Experimental Botany (http://www.ueb.cas.cz/ ) is a leading institution in plant molecular, cellular and developmental biology with and exceptional in-house imaging facility (http://www.ueb.cas.cz/en/if/equipment ).
