Offer Description

The Dean of the Faculty of Science of the University of Ostrava announces a job vacancy at the Department of Chemistry:

• Assistant Professor in Chemistry

Expected start date:

• 1st of June, 2024 (or by agreement)

Estimated amount of work:

• 50 % (or by agreement)

Job description/Responsibilities:

• Teaching in bachelor's and follow-up master's degree programmes
• Scientific and research activities in materials chemistry (porous materials and their applications)
• Initiating and solving research projects
• Popularization and promotion of chemistry as a science

Skills/Qualifications

Qualifications and other requirements:

• PhD degree in Chemistry education, for PhD degree obtained abroad, recognition of the foreign university degree will be required
• Relevant publication activity (at least 2 – 3 WoS articles as lead or corresponding author in the last three years)
• Scientific focus on porous materials, their synthesis, characterization and applications
• Experience in teaching chemistry at the univesity level
• Internship experience (at least 3 months abroad)
• EU research level: R2 – Recognized
• English skills at B2 level
