Academic Staff Member - Assistant Professor for the Department of Agrochemistry, Soil Science, Microbiology and Plant Nutrition, Faculty of AgriSciences

Research field: the area of ​​sustainable use of fertilizers, circulatory economies, use of waste materials in agriculture

We are a modern university, teaching and researching agriculture, forestry, economics and technical disciplines in regional and international contexts. Since 2018, we have been the holder of the HR Excellence in Research Award for improving employee care, awarded to us as the first Czech university by the European Commission.

In the field of plant nutrition, the department specialises in nitrogen and sulphur, non-root nutrition, the effect of drought and new materials for fertiliser development. The main topics in soil science are long-term effects of external inputs, soil organic matter and soil classification. In soil microbiology, experts focus on making nutrients available to plants, increasing water infiltration and retention, and the functional diversity of the soil microbiome.

What will be your job role?

  • independent and team solution of scientific research and project tasks, including international conducting and evaluating biological experiments
  • publishing activities
  • participation in teaching activities
  • teaching and research activities will be oriented towards the sustainable use of fertilisers, circulatory economy and the use of waste materials in agriculture

What are our requirements?

  • a university degree at Ph.D. level in agriculture
  • demonstrable experience in publishing
  • experience in teaching and lecturing
  • excellent Czech language skills, ability to teach and publish in English
  • experience in preparing and solving research projects
  • experience in field experimentation or growing pot experiments
  • knowledge of laboratory analysis in the field of soil agrochemistry and plant mass analysis
