Institute for Tourism in Zagreb is announcing based on article 40 of the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity and Programme Contract of Ministry of Science and Education and Institute of Tourism (Class: 643-02/23-01/00016, In.no: 533-03-23-0012) the following

V A C A N C Y

for a scientific employment position– research associate in social sciences, field of economics- 1 employee

Employment is based on an indefinite period with the obligation of conducting a re-election or election to a higher position every five years.

Mandatory requirements for the position: Applicants must meet requirements for scientific employment position “research associate” defined in the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (PN 119/22 – Law), Regulations on conditions on recruitment for scientific positions (PN 28/17, 72/19, 21/21, 111/22 – Regulations) as well as the conditions in accordance with the Regulations on additional conditions on recruitment for scientific positions . Regulations are available on the website of the Institute under the following link: (http://www.iztzg.hr/UserFiles/file/institut/o-nama/PRAVILNIK-O-DODATNIM-UVJETIMA-ZA-IZBOR-NA-ZNANSTVENA-RADNA-MJESTA.pdf . Furthermore, applicants must possess excellent computer skills (Windows OS and Office program suite) as well as active knowledge of Croatian and English language both in speech and writing.

Applicants for position preference will be given to applicants with experience in scientific and expert projects in the field of tourism statistics, with knowledge of economical methods of valuation of public goods in tourism, methods for estimation of macroeconomic effects of tourism and history of tourism as well as experienced in statistical data processing and data analysing using statistical data software program (STATA and R).

Applicants need to enclose in addition to a cover letter the following documents:

•  curriculum vitae with a list of scientific and professional publications
• print out of publications from CRORIS database
• copy of PhD diploma
• copy of the decision of a respective authorized board on the selection to the scientific title of research associate (in case of possession of such document)
• evidence of fulfilment of conditions as per article 39. specified in the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity
• evidence on fulfilment of additional conditions for election to scientific positions
• proof of work experience (e -copy from the Croatian Pension Insurance Institute).

All applicants who have gained their diploma abroad need to enclose to their application the decision of recognition of diploma issued by the Agency for Science and Higher Education. 

Applicants who according to special regulations gain the right of employment priority need to refere to this right and legal regulation in their application and enclose relevant prove of the mentioned right.
