Offer Description

Doctoral student position in the Division of Experimental Physics, Laboratory for Ion Beam Interactions,  for research and development work  of interest for the EUROfusion and ESFRI projects IFMIF-DONES, with an emphasis on investigating the effects of radiation on materials for future fusion reactors using ion beams. The position is associated with special working conditions (ionizing radiation, category B) and medical examination is necessary prior to contracting.

Skills/Qualifications

The successful candidate should have a degree in physics and has obligation to enrol to a PhD studies in physics. Therefore the candidates should have GPA not lower than 80% of the maximum possible, i.e. to allow direct enrolment to the PhD studies.

Candidates with the degree in research oriented field and affinity for experimental work will have advantage.

Eligibility criteria

Along with the application for the job vacancy, candidates should enclose Curriculum Vitae (CV), Diploma, Supplement (undergraduate and graduate, i.e. integrated studies) confirming which exams were passed and which grades obtained, e-mail address of at least one referee, and other evidence needed for satisfying position related required criteria.

Appointment to an Assistant position is for a temporary period of 5 years.  

Selected candidates who have achieved their higher qualifications outside Croatia will be required, before the signing of the employment contract, to obtain the Ruling on the Recognition of Foreign Higher Educational Qualifications issued by the Agency for Science and Higher Education.

With an applicant for the position of Doctoral Student (Assistant position) who has already been employed in the position of Doctoral Student (Assistant position) in the Republic of Croatia, the employment can be contracted only on the remaining time of up to five years.

Assistant is required to enrol in a postgraduate university study (doctoral study).

The employment includes a six-month trial period.
