Offer Description

A postdoctoral fellow in synthetic organic chemistry, in the Division of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry, Laboratory for Biomimetic Chemistry to work on HRZZ project "Natural product-inspired organocatalytic dearomatization strategies". The postdoc will work on asymmetric organocatalytic dearomatization reactions with an aim to generate heterocyclic cores of natural products with potent biological activities.

The successful applicant should have extensive experience in small molecule synthetic organic chemistry (methodology, total synthesis and/or medicinal chemistry), a demonstrated track record of excellent research through, for examples, first authorship on publications in renowned high impact journals, specific achievements, and presentation of research results in scientific meetings

Specific Requirements

Eligibility criteria

Prerequisites for Appointment to  Postdoctoral Fellow Employment Position:
In addition to the general conditions for employment, applicants must meet the requirements stipulated in Article 43. in the Scientific Activity and Higher Education Act and:

Ph.D. degree in chemistry .
 

The following should be attached to the application form: resume, evidence of the required academic degree and evidence on the fulfilment of other requirements.
Appointment to a  Postdoctoral Fellow position is for temporary period for 24months/ 2 years.

Additional comments

Selected candidates who have achieved their higher qualifications outside Croatia will be required, before the signing of the employment contract, to obtain the Ruling on the Recognition of Foreign Higher Educational Qualifications issued by the Agency for Science and Higher Education.

The candidate cannot be employed as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Republic of Croatia for a total of more than four years.

The employment, according to the Rules of Croatian Science Foundation - for work on a project as Postdoctoral Fellow, can be contracted a maximum of two times (i.e. on two different projects).

The employment includes a six-month trial period.
