Offer Description
The Department of Art History in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Rijeka seeks to appoint an Assistant Professor.
The applicant should have academic experience in research in the area of Contemporary Art and Art Theory, as well as professional and teaching experience in the
field of Art Theory, Contemporary Art and critique of visual arts.
The applicant is expected to have:
- published research articles in the field of history and theory of contemporary art,
-experience in university teaching in the field of history and theory of contemporary art,
- experience in extracurricular work with students in the field of mediation and criticism of visual arts.
The attainment levels of communicative competence components of Croatian language have to be the highest (level C2).

Skills/Qualifications
Candidates must meet the requirements of the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (Narodne novine n. 119/22) and other legal acts that are based on it and are required to enclose evidence of this.
Specific Requirements
Candidates are required to submit the following documents:
- a self-signed application,
- a curriculum vitae (Europass),
- a copy of an ID,
- a copy of the PhD degree certificate,
- a report on previous scientific, teaching and professional activities with evidence,
- a list of publications,
- copies of the relevant publications.
Candidates who have obtained a higher education degree outside Croatia are required to submit evidence of the degree’s recognition (or of an application for its recognition) issued by the Croatian Agency for Science and Higher Education.
Candidates who are not Croatian native speakers must submit proof of proficiency in the Croatian language at the advanced level.
