University of Rijeka, Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management announces

A CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

  • for the selection of a teacher for the scientific-teaching position of an assistant professor in the scientific field of social sciences, scientific subfield of economics, scientific branch quantitative economics, for a full-time fixed term employment - 1 employee.
  • Applicants under I. must attach the following to the selection procedure:

    • a detailed CV,
    • proof of citizenship, certificate from the competent court that no criminal proceedings are being conducted against the applicant (not older than 6 months),
    • electronic record of the data stored in the Register of the Croatian Institute for Pension Insurance,
    • proof of appropriate qualifications, proof of the obtained academic degree of Doctor of Science (Ph.D.),
    • decision of receiving the relevant academic title (if the applicant has that decision)

    a description of scientific, teaching and professional activities, a list of scientific and professional research papers and books, relevant research papers and books, and other documents showing that the applicant meets the requirements for selection.

    Applicants must meet the requirements set out in the Law on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (Official Gazette No. 119/22 – Narodne Novine broj 119/22), Decision on the necessary requirements for evaluation of teaching and professional activity within the procedure for appointment to scientific-teaching titles by the Croatian Rector’s Conference, Rulebook on the selection procedure for scientific-teaching, artistic-teaching, scientific, teaching and associate positions and for corresponding positions at the University of Rijeka, the Statute of the University of Rijeka and the Statute of the Faculty.

    Applicants whose native language is not Croatian must also provide proof of knowledge of Croatian language C2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (proof of knowledge at the required level may exceptionally be provided orally and/or in writing if the applicant cannot provide written proof of knowledge of Croatian language). Applicants who have acquired the relevant education outside the Republic of Croatia must submit a certificate of recognition of a foreign educational qualification or a certificate of the submitted application for recognition of a foreign educational qualification.

    Applicants exercising the right to priority employment on the basis of special regulations are obliged to refer to this right in their application and to enclose all the evidence required by the special regulations for exercising this right; they have priority over other applicants only under equal conditions.

    Applicants who exercise the right to priority in employment on the basis of Article 102 of the Act on Croatian Veterans of the Homeland War and Members of Their Families are obliged to refer to this right in their application for the selection procedure and to attach all the supporting documents for the exercise of this right, and they have priority over other applicants only under equal conditions.     The selection process is open to both genders. Terms used in this competition that have a gender-specific meaning are used neutrally and apply equally to both genders.

    Before a decision is taken, the Faculty reserves the right to carry out an examination of knowledge and skills by means of tests and/or an interview with applicants who submit a timely and proper application and who meet the formal conditions of the selection procedure. Applicants will be notified of the test and/or interview in good time. If the applicant does not take part in the examination, he/she will be considered to have withdrawn his/her application for the selection procedure. The Faculty reserves the right not to select any applicant for this selection procedure.

    By applying for the call for applications, applicants consent to the collection, use and further processing of personal data by the Faculty, for the purpose of carrying out the applications procedure, in accordance with the provisions of the General Regulation (EU) 2016/679 on the protection of personal data and the Law implementing the General Regulation on the protection of data (Official Gazette 42/18 - – Narodne Novine 42/18).

Incomplete applications and those submitted after the published deadline will not be considered.
