Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Assistant Manager Events and Game Day Experience, the Ticket Sales and Student Engagement Assistant will oversee all administrative aspects of our ticket sales program from building the event in our software platform, to working with our social team to ensure promotion to providing timely reports and sales trending to the marketing team. This position will also be the key point of contact in terms of undertaking various initiatives to better engage our students via developing and maintaining relationships with student groups, carrying out existing programs and helping develop new strategies to further engage this group. Each initiative will have its own metrics reporting based on the various key performance indicators.

This position requires on-site attendance at numerous athletic events. The individual must be available and prepared to work flexible hours including frequent evening and weekends as required.


Qualifications:

The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
• Knowledge of ticketing software is required, specific experience with the FUSION software would be an asset.
• Demonstrated customer service experience and strong interpersonal skills are required, with a proven ability to elicit and foster trust, develop positive working relationships and work effectively with customers, on campus partners, student groups and external stakeholders.
• Cash and credit reconciliation experience with knowledge of PCI regulations compliance.
• Strong knowledge of Excel and preparation of report documents is essential.
• Demonstrated student leadership is required to supervise work-study, co-op and volunteer students as well as to inspire collaboration of key student groups on campus.
• Strong organizational skills and time management abilities are essential, along with the ability work in a fast-paced, high volume environment along with the ability to pay attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills are required, including written and verbal.
• A high degree of independence, including the ability to exercise discretion, good judgment, and solid decision-making.

Education and Experience:

The above is normally acquired through:
• Completion of a three year post-secondary accredited program specializing in the field of business or marketing is preferred. Experience related equivalencies considered.
• Minimum of two years of related experience with demonstrated customer service and cash handling experience, preferably in a university campus setting, working directly with students and/or a marketing team

Health and Safety Requirements

This position is regularly required to work on campus in person. If this happens, you will work with your direct manager to set up a remote work environment including discussing appropriate technology and requirements. You are required to follow all University policies and directives, including to set up a safe and confidential workspace in a remote location and ensure all Carleton property (intellectual and other) is safeguarded. If required to work remotely, you will be notified by your manager when working full time physically onsite will resume.
