The Peter Guo-hua Fu School of Architecture is seeking a motivated Research Assistant 1 (RA1) to support the Circular Cities research project. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of urban datasets, spatial analysis, and research activities aimed at advancing the understanding of circular urban systems and sustainable city development. This position offers an opportunity to work within an interdisciplinary research environment combining urban studies, architecture, data analysis, and spatial modeling.
Responsibilities:
Complete and refine interoperable datasets for selected cities using available data sources.
Extend and advance multi-scale analytical work, including GIS-based analysis and spatial data processing.
Explore and test methods for incorporating building typologies and construction characteristics into existing analytical frameworks.
Assist with literature reviews, data visualization, documentation, and interpretation of research findings.
Contribute to the preparation and submission of at least one scholarly publication arising from the project.
Take initiative in proposing and developing innovative analytical approaches relevant to the project's objectives.
Qualifications:
Must hold a bachelor's degree.
Minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience.
Experience working with datasets and data management.
Familiarity with GIS software and spatial analysis methods.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team.
