SAIT’s Centre for Applied Education Innovation (CAEI) department is a catalyst for excellence and creativity. It offers leadership and support in program design and course creation. CAEI is a vital participant in new initiatives related to SAIT strategic goals, the Education Plan and the future of curriculum development at SAIT. 
The Opportunity
CAEI’s multimedia developers work in collaboration with instructional designers to plan, design and develop engaging, interactive, high-impact innovative digital experiences. They transform complex concepts into engaging learner experiences.
 
The multimedia developers combine technical knowledge of multimedia authoring tools and techniques with visual design and interaction design skills. They remain current with best practices for optimal user experience and accessibility to ensure that the use of multimedia supports all learners.
As part of the learning experience design team, multimedia developers participate in the overall design of curriculum and make recommendations on which types of media will most effectively enhance the learner experience. 
The Role
    • Create and revise storyboards and briefs for planning and communication with project team members. 
    • Provide consultation to project teams regarding feasibility, suitability and potential development timelines for the development of custom/specialized multimedia development experiences.
    • Use appropriate tools to develop media such as illustrations and 3D graphics, photography, animations, simulations, audio and video, and LMS web pages.
    • Program interactive activities for online courses.
    • Conduct proofing and testing of multimedia components.
    • Build courses in SAIT’s learning management system.
    • Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and project sponsors.
    • Maintain and expand professional competencies through formal and informal development activities.
    • Share knowledge of systems, software and techniques with team members. 

Qualifications & Experience
    •  Minimum
    • Extensive knowledge of UX/UI design principles
    • Extensive knowledge of design principles and standards
    • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications
    • Extensive development experience in programming front-end interactive experiences particularly with advanced HTML5 and JavaScript

    • Preferred
    • Experience with Microsoft 365
    • Experience with Brightspace or other learning management systems

    • Skills Required
    • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
    • Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Ability to meet course development milestones and ensure that individual development projects are completed on time, according to established methods and standards
    • Ability to work on multiple projects at a time

Salary Range: $62,770.50 - $83,562.05
Hours Per Week: 36.25
