Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Marketing Manager of Campus Services, this position is responsible for assisting with creating, implementing, and evaluating various marketing efforts for numerous departments within the Campus Services portfolio.

Additionally, this position is responsible for facilitating the continuous improvement of Campus Services’ service offerings by collecting surveys and data, exploring data already available to Campus Services, maintaining data collection processes, and participating in various activities in support of projects within Campus Services.

The position would entail working with and supporting the various departments within Campus Services, as well as throughout Carleton.


Qualifications:

The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
• Strong understanding of social media a must.
• Excellent writing skills are required to prepare marketing emails for events, multimedia presentations, and social media postings.
• Working knowledge of various computer software such as Outlook and other Microsoft Office programs, Adobe Suite programs (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere etc.), social media analytics tools, and Google Analytics.
• Ability to learn and keep up-to-date with apps/programs for creating and monitoring social media content, graphic design, and technology related to the improvement of overall marketing initiatives.
• Photography and video skills are required.
• Familiarity with Hootsuite an asset.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills as well as a strong knowledge of Carleton University and the Ottawa region.
• Capable of effectively organizing and handling a heavy workload with multiple simultaneous deadlines, working independently, and using good judgment.
• English language fluency is required.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.


Education and Experience:

The above is normally acquired through the completion of:
• Completion of relevant two (2) year diploma, such as business, marketing/advertising, multimedia design, social media, or equivalent.
• One (1) year of experience in marketing, social media, content curation, graphic design and video editing, preferably in a post-secondary environment. Experience in developing content for and monitoring social media sites is required, as is experience in preparing multimedia presentations.
