Postdoc in molecular biology and neurosciences

The fellow will work in the elucidation of the molecular bases involved with schizophrenia, by employing molecular biology techniques, in addition to in silico analyses of the data generated.

Potential fellows must have completed their doctorate no more than seven years ago and present scientific knowledge on the subject of the project. It is also necessary to have full domain of written and spoken English, proactivity and willingness to carry out part of the project abroad.

The candidate must have proven experience in the following laboratory techniques to apply for the scholarship:

- Molecular cloning;

- Gene silencing and overexpression in preclinical in vitro and in vivo models.

- Stem cells cultures and cell differentiation;

- Cellular Co-cultures.

Other essential techniques for the job include: production, purification, titration of recombinant viral vectors, PCR, PCR-RT, western blot, culturing cell lines, immunocytochemistry, fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry.
