CCARBON, located at the University of São Paulo's Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture (ESALQ-USP) in Brazil, is one of the Research, Innovation and Dissemination Centers (RIDCs) suported by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP). CCARBON aims to lead innovations for enhancing low-carbon tropical agriculture. The Animal Research Project (CCARBON-Animal) focuses on manipulating the ruminal microbiome to mitigate methane in tropical ruminants.

CCARBON-Animal is seeking candidates for a post-doctoral position, evaluating the effectiveness of forage, silvopastoral, legume, and algae systems in methane reduction. The research uses stable isotopes to identify methane sources, enhancing our understanding of alternatives to decrease greenhouse gas emissions.

The selected candidate will receive a 24-month post-doctoral fellowship. We are seeking a highly motivated and productive professional with expertise in animal science, ruminal fermentation studies, isotopes, data analysis, statistics, and environmental sciences.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 9,047.40 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent on items directly related to the research activity.
