Offer Description
The GLOBALCAR Research Project and the Brazilian Center for Analysis and Planning (CEBRAP) are receiving applications for 1 post-doctoral scholarship to develop research on popular informal/illegal economic circuits of vehicles and spare autoparts.
The main goal of this post-doctoral fellowship pertains to the synthesis of quantitative databases essential for the project's advancement. This involves integrating diverse primary and secondary data sources, encompassing both quantitative and qualitative dimensions, and producing original data.
The selected candidate is expected to speak and write fluent Portuguese and reside in São Paulo city, Brazil, during the scholarship period. The scholarship holder must dedicate themselves to specific tasks that include construction and analysis of databases using different primary and secondary sources, based on material already collected and to be collected. In short, the scholarship holder is expected to have the profile of a data scientist and to assist project researchers, especially with the use of quantitative methods.

The post-doctoral scholarship is granted by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP). The position is scheduled for 01 of May 2024, lasting until 31 of March 2025. The selected candidate will receive a monthly fellowship in the amount of BRL9.047,40 and a research contingency fund equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship.
