Offer Description

Post-doctoral position in the area of computer vision (CV) to work at the “Science for Development Center in Digital Agriculture” based in Campinas (São Paulo state, Brazil) at EMBRAPA Digital Agriculture, one of the decentralized units of the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (EMBRAPA). The activities include research into plot mapping using computer vision techniques such as SLAM, object detection and segmentation.

We are searching for candidates presenting:

(i) Good oral and written communication skills, including English;

(ii) Previous experience in deep learning systems for CV (object detection, tracking and/or segmentation);

(iii) Knowledge of the Python programming language and deep learning frameworks.

Additional Qualifications to be viewed as a plus:

(i) Previous experience with SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) systems;

(ii) Previous experience with the ROS system (Robot Operating System);

(iii) Programming experience in C++.

The position is open to Brazilians and foreigners. The selected candidate will receive a Post-Doctoral Scholarship from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) worth R$ 9,047.40 per month and a research contingency fund equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the scholarship to cover unforeseen expenses directly related to the research activity.
