Offer Description
The project is the result of a Call for Proposals issued by T-AP (TransAtlantic Platform for the Social Sciences and Humanities) and is entitled “Impact of COVID-19 on livelihoods, mobility, and accessibility of marginalized groups (ICOLMA)” involving research between UFABC, University of Cape Town (UCT) e Technische Universität Dortmund (TU Do).
The general objective of ICOLMA is to investigate how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the mobility and way of life of marginalized groups in 3 cities – São Paulo (Brazil), Cape Town (South Africa) and the Ruhr Valley (Germany), considering the periodization of before the pandemic, during the restrictions (lockdown) and after.
The post-doctoral researcher is expected to be qualified to organize and deepen the analysis of the data already collected (about 100 interviews in each city using the Maptionnaire software), with mastery of quantitative and qualitative analysis tools (R, SPSS, MAXQDA) and cartography (Q Gis) and the development of new research tools such as interviews and combined analysis.

The successful candidate will receive a post-doctoral scholarship with funding from FAPESP (the São Paulo Research Foundation) in the amount of R$ 9,047.40 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent on items directly related to the research activity. The scholarship will last for 10 months and may be extended to 12 months.
