Offer Description
A post-doctoral position is open in the Laboratory of Autonomic and Respiratory Control in the Department of Physiology, University of São Paulo's Ribeirão Preto Medical School (FMRP-USP), Brazil. The selected researcher will join a Thematic Project titled “Astrocytic modulation on brainstem neurons involved with generation and control of sympathetic and respiratory activities in rodents submitted to hypoxia“ and coordinated by Professor Benedito H. Machado. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in physiological sciences and be motivated to study different aspects of the central neural control of cardiovascular and respiratory functions.
The application requires 1) Reference letters from 2 established investigators; 2) Curriculum Vitae; and 3) A cover letter explaining the main reason why the candidate is applying to this post-doc position.
The selected candidate will receive a Post-Doctoral Fellowship from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) in the amount of BRL 9.047,40 per month, and additional research contingency funding equivalent to 10% of the annual fellowship stipend to defray any other expenses directly related to the research activity.
