YOUR TASKS

 

Our research team GR3AT (Ghent research team respiratory rehabilitation and activity), embedded within the research group ‘rehabilitation in chronic internal disorders’, is looking for a research assistant to support our research on physical functioning and cancer-related fatigue in patients with lung cancer. As a research assistant, you will be responsible for the data collection as well as providing a physical activity coaching intervention to patients after surgical treatment for lung cancer. You will participate in an ongoing multicentre intervention study in collaboration with UHasselt. You will participate in the meetings of the multicentre research team and you perform the data collection in the participating hospitals (Gent, Brugge, Roeselare). We offer an 80% appointment as research assistant for 1 year and we are happy to explore together potential the next steps in research. You will be supervised by Prof. Heleen Demeyer (UGent) and Prof. Chris Burtin (UHasselt).   

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

 

• You hold a Master’s degree in physiotherapy and rehabilitation sciences
• You are interested in clinical research, you are critical and motivated to work accurately.
• You enjoy working with patients in collaboration with a team of doctors, nurses and researchers. You are interested in measuring and improving the physical functioning and symptom burden of patients with a respiratory disease
• You are communicative, fluent in English and flexible. 
• You enjoy taking initiative, you are a team player and can work independently.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

 

• We offer you a 80% contract of definite duration for the period of 1 year. Earliest starting date is 1 July 2024.
