Updated: over 1 year ago
Job Type: FullTime
Deadline: 12 Sep 2022

In the framework of a research project financed by the Walloon Region, we are looking for a full-time researcher with a Master in chemistry, biochemistry or equivalent for a study of two years with a possibility of extension (long-term contract).

Context :

The Royal Military Academy of Belgium (RMA) is a military institution responsible for the basic academic, military and physical training of future officers, and for the continuing advanced training of officers during their active career in the Belgian Defence department (www.rma.ac.be ). The Royal Military Academy is also conducting scientific research at the university level for projects funded by the Belgian Defence department or external sources, notably within the field of energetic materials and the development of propellants.

Study:

The work to be carried out is part of a research project to develop and characterize new propellant formulations for small arms. These new formulations are necessary to comply with the most recent regulations (environmental impact, toxicity, etc.) and must make it possible to reduce the erosion of the barrels during firing. This R&D work is conducted in collaboration with the research teams of the University of Liege (ULiège), PBClermont (EURENCO group) and FNHerstal.
