R&D Manager BIOCON: pilot platform for chemocatalytic technologies

-       PhD or equivalent research expertise in bioscience engineering, chemical engineering, or industrial engineering. Additional education in general management, innovation management and/or entrepreneurship is an advantage.

-       Preferably 10 years of relevant research experience related to chemocatalysis, biorefining, renewable carbon resources, chemical process development, TEA,LCA, safe and sustainable products.

-       Capable of defining long-term strategic roadmaps , with a helicopter view on the constantly evolving state-of-the-art and societal context.

-       Verifiable experience in managing complex research projects between multiple entities both within and outside your own organization (including people-, operational- and financial- management).

-       Preferably familiar with European and National applied research funding schemes, projects with industry involvement, bilateral cooperation projects, etc.

-       Abroad international network within the domain of biomass conversion, carbon circularity and related domains

-       Preferably experience in technology transfer. The candidate should have a working knowledge on intellectual property.

-       Can manage a group of up to 10 staff members, in addition to a diverse group of internal and external (international) partners.

-       Collaborative spirit and willing to work with different partners and research teams.

-       Strong communication and negotiation skills.

-       Entrepreneurial mindset with enthusiastic can-do mentality.

-       You feel at home in a young, dynamic and ambitious start-up environment.

-       You believe in the importance of the transition to a more sustainable carbon-circular economy.

You work in Leuven, Lovenjoel, but should regularly perform company visits and participate to conferences/workshops/project meetings and other events in Belgium and abroad
