Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Organic Synthesis - Dynamic Covalent Chemistry

We announce the availability of a full time postdoctoral position to strengthen the Organic Synthesis Research Group (http://www.OS.ugent.be ). Successful candidates will be offered a one-year sholarship at a competitive salary, as an employee of the department of Organic and Macromolecular Chemistry at Ghent University in Belgium (http://www.orgchem.ugent.be ). The scholarship is renewable up to a maximum duration of 3 years in total.

You will develop and subsequently apply new dynamic covalent bond forming reactions for applications in materials science and chemical modification of biomacromolecules. You will help coordinate research efforts of PhD students in the organic synthesis research group, as well as work on your own individual research lines. Targeted applications involve innovative thiol-thiol cross-linking platforms, as well as the chemistry of triazolinediones as click reagents. As a particular focus in these projects ‘on demand’ reversible adhesives and bioconjugate strategies for innovative immunotherapies will be targeted, in close collaboration with research groups that are active in these areas.
