Director of the Pre-Undergraduate Program Learning Center

Reports to:

Dean of Faculty and Academic Affairs

The Learning Center is a place for students to seek extra help on their own or via direction from their instructor, advisor, or Director of Learning & Wellness and Adjunct Lecturer in the School of Education. The Center employees tutors who are on hand to assist and support students academically. The Learning Center also holds workshops for students on topics of particular relevance to their studies. 

Main Responsibilities of the Job:

• The Director of the Learning Center will work closely with the Pre-UG Program Director and the Director of Learning & Wellness and Adjunct Lecturer in the School of Education. 
• The Director of the Learning Center is expected to conduct workshops for all Pre-UG Students e.g., on topics like - Study Skills, Referencing in Academic Writing, Time Management. She/He should focus on individualized help for students who are weak in a specific skill area. 
• She/He will have to implement Individual Education Plans for students created by the Director of Learning & Wellness and Adjunct Lecturer in the School of Education. 
• She/He will manage the tutorial services of the Learning Center including overseeing faculty and student tutors. 
• The Study Skills and Computer Literacy courses for newly admitted students are also overseen by the Director of the Learning Center. 
• The Director of the Learning Center will be assigned some classes to conduct every term of the year. 

Educational requirement:

The ideal candidate should have a background in university preparatory education with a Master's Degree in relevant subject.
