Contract: Permanent/Indefinite

Euro University of Bahrain (“EUB”) invites applications for three permanent, full-time academic positions at the level of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer (equivalent to Assistant/Associate Professor) in Business. Candidates should be able to deliver excellent teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, have a suitable track record of high-quality research outputs appropriate to their career level and a commitment to meaningful knowledge exchange activities. As EUB is a new, ambitious university, the successful candidates will have ample opportunities to support and develop each of these activities from the ground up, particularly through developing expertise in their chosen area of research. They will also play a key role in developing links between EUB’s developing collaborations in Europe, particularly with the University of London. Among the three posts to be hired, two will have specific administrative responsibility. First, one staff member will serve as acting Dean of the College. Second, one staff member will serve as EUB’s University of London Programme Coordinator with particular responsibility for working with the University of London on the delivery of its programmes at EUB. Candidates interested in either of these administrative responsibilities should clearly state this in their applications.

EUB is a new private university in Manama, Bahrain following over a decade of planning and consultation with various stakeholders and regulators both in Bahrain and in a number of European countries. EUB has been granted its licence from the Higher Education Council of the Kingdom of Bahrain following its approval from the University of London as a Recognised Teaching Centre. In the autumn of 2022, EUB began offering the University of London’s International Foundation Programme with progression onto University of London degree programmes. EUB is currently setting up its initial three colleges in Business, Computer Science, and Law, and the academic staff EUB is currently recruiting will play a key role in the initial development of these three colleges. Over the next few years, EUB plans to steadily increase its academic programmes, expanding into different discipline areas and postgraduate degrees. Upon completion of its state-of-the-art campus, EUB will be the largest private university in terms of facilities and students in the Gulf Cooperation Council (“GCC”) region with an international reputation for academic excellence. EUB’s strategic plan is to develop a distinctly European campus with key partners across Europe, offering an outstanding student experience, generating internationally leading research, and engaging meaningfully in the region and globally. We are looking for exceptional, enthusiastic academic staff who will play a key role in contributing to EUB’s teaching, research and engagement activities in this exciting project.
