Your personal scope:


The Faculty of Law`s Institute for Constitutional and Administrative Law is etablishing a new department under the Chair of "Public Law in its European Context", led by Professor Dr. Anuscheh Farahat. We specialise in researching and teaching constitutional and administrative law in Europe, focusing on migration law and human rights. With a view to establishing a new "Center for Migration Law", we will appoint a postdoctoral researcher.

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic academic to join our team. As an early career researcher, you will play a full part in conceptualising and developing the academic profile of the new centre. This is what you do:

You will conduct research, teach and handle administrative tasks. This includes:

  • Conceptualising and establishing the new "Centre for Migration Law" in collaboration with other team members
  • Scientific coordination of the new "Centre for Migration Law"
  • Collaborating in the development and conceptualisation of third-party funded research projects in the field of migration law and human rights
  • Conducting independent research and ensuring subsequent publication of research results (optional: possibility to finalise a Habilitation)
  • Conceptualising and organising of academic events and publications
  • Supporting visiting scholars
  • Independently teaching classes to the extent of the collective agreement provisions


This is part of your personality:


•    PhD in Law or socio-legal studies
•    Interest in working with students and international scholars
•    Ability to work in a team and good communication skills
•    Interest in academic research, especially in migration law and human rights law
•    Interest in interdisciplinary research
•    Interest in independent academic qualification
•    English proficiency at least at level C1
•    German proficiency at least at level B2
