Job profile:

University Assistant - Postdoc (career position) Didactics of History and Didactics of Civic Education (40 hours/week), Department of Contemporary History from 01.10.2024 until 30.09.2030. Main tasks: Independent research activities in the fields of didactics of history and didactics of political education; independent teaching in the fields of didactics of history and didactics of political education; participation in the administration, especially organization and coordination of teaching in the fields of didactics of history and didactics of political education for the Teaching Network West; 50% secondary assignment at the Department of Subject Didactics of the Faculty of Teacher Education. Required qualifications: Completed doctoral or PhD studies (contemporary history) or doctoral or PhD studies in history didactics or doctoral or PhD studies in didactics of history. PhD studies in the didactics of political education; subject-specific didactic expertise, proven by relevant academic achievements beyond the dissertation/PhD, documented in particular by publications in recognized journals with peer review procedures as well as by presentations at international conferences/workshops (up to five important publications should be highlighted in the list of publications and at least one reading sample in the form of an essay or book chapter should be attached to the application); Experience in working with third-party funding (acquisition, management), desired: successfully acquired third-party funding; description of a research project at habilitation level corresponding to the above-mentioned main task (max. 5 pages); submission of a teaching concept, desirable: experience in university teaching; desirable: relevant teacher training degree; desirable: school teaching experience and/or experience with empirical research work at school; several months of relevant professional experience after the dissertation/PhD; professional mobility experience during or after the dissertation/PhD; knowledge of German (at least C1 level or willingness to acquire this in an adequate period of time); teamwork, communication and coordination skills.
