An exciting opportunity exists for a proactive, tech savvy and solution-driven person to join the Digital User Experience team at Curtin University. This is a great opportunity to learn from a high-performing software development and design team and gain exposure to an agile working environment.

This on campus 12-month fixed term full-time position primarily supports and assists continuous improvement to the student and staff digital user experience through application support and project delivery. 

In this role you will:

  • Manage relevant support requests (Tier 2 elsie, OASIS and other web applications) and liaise between stakeholders to reach a resolution
  • Facilitate communication to students regarding OASIS and elsie issues, outages and enhancements
  • Work collaboratively with Student Services, Digital and Technology teams, communicating issues and system outages to relevant support staff for resolution
  • Manage user access to core platforms and applications
  • Action or approve requests, in accordance with set standards, for content updates, including changes to text and images, uploading documents etc, to Student Services web pages
  • Facilitate online and face-to-face training for core content management platforms
  • Improve documentation by assisting in the development of help content and user manuals
  • Provide support to the team by undertaking functional testing of web and mobile applications including OASIS
  • Assist in the identification and recommendation of improvements to Student Services web pages, OASIS and Elsie
  • Prepare regular web platform reports, including spell checks and broken link reports, and action appropriately
  • Support the team by providing assistance with research, design and development activities when required
  • Provide exceptional client service and engage effectively with all stakeholders
To be successful in the role you will:
  • Be a recent university graduate or soon to be graduate
  • From one of the fields of study:
    • User experience or digital design, Software development, Marketing, Communications, HR, Management, International Business or other related disciplines
  • Produce quality written work showing a high level of attention to detail, related to spelling and grammar
  • Have exceptional interpersonal skills and communication skills with the ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders
  • Work well in a team environment, meet deadlines and can rapidly learn and work with a variety of web applications
Desirable skills
  • Experience in a tertiary environment
  • Knowledge of and practice with Project Management and Documentation Systems such as Notion and Microsoft 365
  • Knowledge of or an interest in user experience design, research or software development
  • Knowledge of or experience in Agile business environments using SCRUM, KANBAN, or similar Agile methodology
  • Experience with Curtin’s online learning environment
As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role.
