About The Role 


 
The Technical Officer, Nursing Simulation will provide technical support and advice in the area of Nursing and Nursing Simulated technologies. The incumbent will ensure the simulated health laboratories and associated equipment are well maintained and functioning, while also ensuring all users of the technology are appropriately trained. 


 


The Technical Officer, Nursing Simulation will be responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operational functions of Sim Health Nursing laboratories and support other health sciences, and for providing support to teaching activities that take place within these facilities. The successful candidate will provide expert advice to users of the spaces and ensure designated areas are running effectively and safely, in compliance with legislative requirements and RMIT policies and procedures. 


 


The technical officer, Nursing Simulation will be responsible for training and advising staff and stakeholders on the use of Simulation software, including trouble shooting and liaising with software Vendors and RMIT IT services when problems arise. This includes operational support for multiple hardware simulator manikins and the associated software and devices. 


 


 


To be successful in this position, you’ll have:  


 


  • Experience in the use and operation of simulation technologies and equipment. 

  • Demonstrated experience in health simulation software platforms and troubleshooting audio visual equipment.  

  • Operating and maintaining laboratory-based instruments equipment relevant to the work area and generating appropriate operating documentation. 

  • Demonstrated experience in providing technical assistance, advice and training of equipment/instruments including inductions to all users of the workspaces, while also documenting these events. 

  • Experience in coordinating ongoing maintenance of simulation equipment, including cleaning, repairing, and ensuring all equipment is maintained in good working condition at all times while also ensuring maintenance records are maintained and up to date. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively in cross-functional teams and with a diverse range of people from various backgrounds.  

  • Proven track record of building strong relationships with a range of stakeholders, including understanding and embracing a client focused framework. 

  • Understanding of current OH&S legislation with knowledge of other field or industry regulations or standards related to health simulation laboratories.
