  • Opportunity to manage and lead a team of Student Placement Officers ensuring the successful delivery of student placements in the Faculty of Medicine and Health (FMH)
  • Base Salary $104,633 + 17% superannuation

As such, we are in a period of exciting and significant investment in our Faculty of Medicine and Health and in order to deliver on the University’s ambitious strategic plan, we are looking for a Student Placements Lead to join the placements team in the Faculty of Medicine and Health. This rewarding role is responsible for the management and delivery of the placement administrative processes for the team, ensuring they adequately support the academic learning outcomes of degree programs. This role leads the team to ensure the delivery of placement strategy, the effective and efficient operation of the team, and the successful delivery of the faculty’s student placement activities across a portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Please note that these roles are not open to current University of Sydney students.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • manage all components of student placements for various disciplines across the schools to meet Faculty objectives
  • work on continuous improvement of administrative processes
  • relationship management
  • manage reporting and compliance requirements for the team
  • provide effective team leadership, supervision, and support to the placement team
  • manage risk and WHS for designated programs within the Student Placements team.

About you

  • has demonstrated experience in supporting the delivery of education programs, preferably in a tertiary education environment
  • able to provide supervision, training, mentoring and performance management of staff
  • experience with the use of work integrated learning components to achieve stated education outcomes and professional competencies
  • excellent client focus with the ability to build partnerships between the faculty education team, academic colleagues, and external placement providers.
  • excellent oral and written communication, negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
