(HEO7) $95,017 to $106,270 per annum plus an employer contribution of up to 17% superannuation. 

Full time - Fixed Term for 19 months.

Exciting opportunity to work in Student Affairs, part of the Student Life team who focus on delivering efficient and responsive student services that contribute to the overall student experience.

Working in Student Affairs and under limited direction, the Student Grievance and Conduct Advisor provides an advisory and complaints resolution service to the University community in relation to student complaints and appeals, and supports the management of student misconduct.  In this position you will review and assess reported incidents concerning student behaviour, work with stakeholders to address matters, and support misconduct referrals under the Student Misconduct Rules. You will provide guidance on University complaint processes, assess student appeals for grounds, negotiate outcomes, and refer students to appropriate University support services.

The position also provides advice to Schools and Faculties, requiring a high degree of knowledge and sensitivity in the interpretation of a range of University policies and procedures. Student Grievance and Conduct Advisors prepare annual and ad hoc reports and make recommendations on identified issues.

To be successful you will need:

  • Substantial experience in providing advice and support on organisational policies and procedures.
  • High-level verbal and written communication skills, with experience in preparing reports.
  • Ability to analyse data, determine trends and make recommendations to address identified gaps and risks.
  • Well-developed interpersonal communication skills, with experience in coordinating key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in responding professionally to complex customer requests and managing conflict.
  • Knowledge of University of Adelaide policies and procedures relating to student matters.
  • **This position requires a valid Working with Children Check.
