  • Commencement salary: $96,696 per annum plus 17% superannuation

About the role

We are seeking Communication Coordinators to contribute to one of the largest changes to higher education in Australia over the past 30 years and help shape the new Adelaide University. You will work for the University of South Australia, and you will be based in the Integration Management Office (IMO) in the Communications Function.  

The Integration Management Office (IMO) has established functional areas which are referred to as Domains. Each Domain is responsible for executing tasks and producing deliverables that are crucial to the establishment of the new Adelaide University.

As the Communication Coordinator you will work closely with relevant project teams, Domains and Domain leadership, and the IMO to execute communications that support the new Adelaide University’s key strategic objectives, program milestones and decisions, co-creation activities, and transition updates. The position will be aligned to one or more Domains, providing expert Domain management through the development and execution of communication strategy.

You will focus on internal audiences (staff and current students), however, it will work closely with the relevant Domains within the Integration Management Office, including the Market and Partner Engagement Domain, for external audience communication related to the transition process.

Core responsibilities

  • Writing and content creation to help tell the story of the transition to Adelaide University 
  • Execute Domain engagement activities and events that are aligned to achieving the Domain’s critical path and project plan 
  • Provide expert advice and recommendations to Domains and key stakeholders 
  • Program and project coordination and support 
  • Role model a constructive, one team culture and demonstrate best practice operational service delivery and continuous improvement in all activities 

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing, journalism, communications, project management or a related discipline, along with demonstrated experience in a comparable senior role in a complex organisation 
  • High level interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills, together with experience in relating to and influencing managers and negotiating with staff across all levels of an organisation 
  • Expert content development and editing skills, with the ability to unearth an interesting story and to interpret complex information and communicate appropriately for different audiences and channels 
  • Highly developed organisational and project management skills and experience in managing multiple priorities, projects and resources within tight timelines 
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in a team-based work environment and achieving results as part of a cross-functional team
