Overview:

  • Part-time, Continuing position (0.8 FTE) - targeted role for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates

  • Salary HEW 7  + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements

  • Based at the Bundoora campus, and hybrid ways of working.

About You
As the Senior Librarian, Licencing you will provide support to the Senior Coordinator, Subscriptions acting as a liaison between the Library and internal and external client groups regarding licences and agreements for Library licenced resources. You will also be responsible for initiating, reviewing, and delivering licensing activities via contemporary, sustainable practices including applying innovative licensing and agreement processes.

You will also assist and report on publisher/vendor agreements and provide specialist expertise in relation to licensing, compliance, and the conditions of use for third party information resources. This includes communicating and management of associated risks and oversight of any internal processes to facilitate compliance with licences.

To be successful in this position, you will have as a minimum:

  • Relevant experience in reviewing and negotiating contracts, ideally in publisher licensing and business models, and awareness of contemporary higher education library licencing policies and issues.

  • Demonstrated experience in licence management, utilising contemporary and sustainable library collection acquisition practices.

  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to prepare professional documentation, liaising collaboratively with vendors, consortia, and industry partners to deliver excellent outcomes for Library users.

  • Computer literacy, particularly with current relevant library and information management software packages and their various applications.

About the Portfolio

The Education Portfolio is headed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education and Vice President who leads the planning and implementation of the University’s strategies related to RMIT’s academic programs and the RMIT student experience. The Portfolio is responsible for services to support the quality of RMIT programs, including the professional development of academic staff, continuous improvement of the student experience, learning and teaching outcomes and the management of learning and research information sources.
