The School of Humanities is seeking an outstanding scholar who can undertake research and teaching within the field of Creative Writing.

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses and supervise postgraduate research projects in the field of Creative Writing. Candidates must have a PhD in Creative Writing or a related discipline, an excellent track record of publications and demonstrated effectiveness as an undergraduate teacher in this field. Preference will be given to a person who is able to teach beyond their field of specialisation, including in literature, and who has a track record of working with postgraduate coursework and research students.

To be successful you will need:

  • PhD in Creative Writing or in a related discipline
  • Demonstrated excellence in the publication of fiction and/or creative non-fiction, with a national reputation in the field
  • Demonstrated effectiveness as an undergraduate teacher of creative writing
  • Demonstrated ability to teach in a team environment
  • The ability and willingness to teach in an online environment
