Why your role matters:
As the Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor – Education Focused in Construction and Property Law, you will lead the design, delivery and review of UNSW’s construction and property law courses, such as Real Property Law and Construction and Property Law .
This is a great opportunity for a practitioner within industry to use your experience and teach 2 days a week.
UNSW’s Education Focussed roles (EF) enable academics to specialise in education and devote their time to delivering high-quality teaching and pursuing initiatives to enhance the educational experience of our students. Those who are appointed to this prestigious specialisation will be expected to successfully drive educational excellence within the university’s teaching and learning communities.
This position reports to the Director of Construction Management and Property and has no direct reports.
This position is based in Sydney Australia.
Skills and Experience
(Level C)
- A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant professional experience in construction and property law
- A record of actively staying up to date with disciplinary knowledge and developments in construction and property law
- Demonstrated experience engaging with professional bodies, and the broader industry, in relation to construction and property law.
- Experience in course design and delivery using a range of pedagogical approaches, at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
- Experience of implementing educational technologies and online delivery methods
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence and fostering this in others
- Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills
- An ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
Level D (in addition to the above)
- Evidence of leading innovation in education / disciplinary strategic initiatives and delivering exceptional student outcomes
- Demonstrated success in initiating curriculum development and improvement
- Demonstrated experience as a national leader and recognised authority in construction and property law in Australia (evidenced by e.g. keynote addresses, leadership in respected professional organisations, professional advocacy and policy development, etc)
