This key teaching position within the Adelaide Dental School facilitates the academic and professional training of our undergraduate dental students with a focus on innovative teaching methodology in both clinical and theoretical settings. A primary focus of this role is to foster the development of our students on clinical placements in the final years of our teaching program. The Adelaide Dental School has student placements in a number of locations including the Adelaide Dental Hospital in the Adelaide Health and Medical Sciences Building (North Terrace), SA Dental clinics in Marion, Gilles Plains and Noarlunga and the Dental Simulation Clinic on the main North Terrace campus. Further activities will include a focus on student support and collaboration with other academic staff in organisational activities within the school. As part of this role, you will support students in the final years of the dental program through direct clinic supervision and the provision of student feedback and clinical assessments across all aspects of general dental practice.

This is an opportunity to provide leadership in the academic and professional development of the next generation of dentists while facilitating implementation and oversight of a comprehensive dental teaching program.

The successful applicant will be required to provide clinical supervision of students in the Adelaide Dental Hospital in the Adelaide Health and Medical Sciences Building (North Terrace), SA Dental clinics and on occasions in regional rural areas.

To be successful you will need:

  • Unrestricted AHPRA registration.
  • A PhD qualification in a relevant area or equivalent accreditation and standing.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in the preparation and delivery of lectures, tutorials, demonstrations and workshops; as well as marking and assessment activities; and a commitment to excellence in teaching.
