About the opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior HR Partner to support leaders in the Faculty of Science to deliver key strategic initiatives aligned to HR objectives and the University of Sydney 2032 Strategy, as well as deliver a high-quality HR service to clients. Instilling your solutions-focused approach, you will deploy strategic, contemporary HR expertise enabling the delivery of world-class educational and research outcomes.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • take a lead role in collaborating with peers across the other HR Centres of Expertise (such as recruitment, policy and workplace relations), in designing and presenting robust and client-focused solutions
  • develop tailored strategic and operational solutions for executive leaders across your client group spanning areas of talent and succession management, workforce planning, organisational design, reward and recognition and workplace culture
  • act as the change lead for your client base, supporting with workforce plans and ensuring the most appropriate organisational design is in place to deliver on strategy
  • support the Senior Manager and Associate Director in leading initiatives to build capability within the wider HR team which includes effective delegation, coaching and implementation of industry best practice frameworks, technology and processes.

About you

  • extensive experience as a senior HR professional within a complex and multifaceted organisation (ideally within a tertiary environment with a Centre of Expertise model)
  • elevated ability to build and manage trusted client relationships with tact and professionalism at the senior level and influence positive outcomes
  • significant change management and project delivery experience across various HR capabilities and processes
  • a high degree of capability working with and interpreting complex Industrial instruments and relevant policies
  • exceptional partnering skills as you will be liaising with the wider HR Partnering team and other HR functions to ensure a collaborative and consistent approach to service delivery

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
