Receiving broad direction and working with a degree of autonomy, the Senior Developer (within the Student Experience DevOps squad) is responsible for providing high quality services to key stakeholders across the University including maintaining the University public facing website technology. With extensive experience inDrupal and OpenShift, the role is responsible for implementing new and enhancing existing functionality to meet the strategic and tactical needs of the university.  The Senior Developer also provides technical guidance and development of more junior staff members, by fostering good technology practices in software development and keeping current with emerging trends.

The Information Technology and Digital Services Branch is a part of the University’s Division of University Operations, which provides enabling services and resource capabilities to support the University’s teaching and research objectives and activities.  ITDS provides services and support to the University of Adelaide community of over 25,000 students and 3500 staff members.

To be successful you will need:

  • Extensive experience with Drupal 8 / 9 web application development and experience with Linux, Docker, Apache, MySQL & PHP development.
  • Experience with RedHat OpenShift or Kubernetes operations (including command line scripting and system administration).
  • Proven experience with OAuth, HTML5 and JavaScript frameworks.
  • Proven experience with relational data modelling and SQL, and experience using Object Oriented design, Service Oriented Architecture and API design is highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated ability in problem solving, working well under pressure and meeting work deadlines in a Scrum or DevOps environment.
