About the area
UWA is making significant investments in the Information and Technology Services to enable its strategic direction and goals. UWA is also looking to utilise technology advancements to expand its services and create new and innovative teaching and research models.
The redesign of the Infrastructure and Platform Services unit aims to deliver design and operational services through a portfolio comprised of a Network and Platform section and an End User Compute section

About the opportunity
Reporting to the Manager (Desktop Engineering) and joining a team of eight, you will be responsible for development and maintenance of the client device environment providing support in the planning, implementation, and patch management of a standard operating environment (SOE) across Windows, Linux and Mac platforms. You will also be responsible for the management, packaging and deployment of major applications across multiple desktop platforms. In addition, you will be responsible for resolving requests, problems and incidents in line with the agreed service levels for existing solutions. You will also support the design and implementation of services for new desktop solutions. This is not a front-line client facing support role, but a role designing and managing the desktop platform on a fleet-wide level.

About you
To be considered for this opportunity, you will have substantial relevant computing experience in the management and development of desktop standard operating environments (SOE) across Windows, Linux and Mac. ITIL certification or experience is desirable. Experience in tools such as SCCM, Intune, Group Policy Objects, JAMF, basic Powershell/Linux Shell scripting, VMWare Horizons, and Application Packaging tools (e.g. Numecent Cloudpager) is considered highly desirable.
