As the Senior Business Development Officer for Professional and Continuing Education  (PACE) at the University of Adelaide, you’ll be responsible for promoting, developing, managing, and evaluating our range of customised education solutions to existing and potential B2B clients.

Our customised education solutions are currently delivered to a diverse client-base that includes local, national, and international organisations, including the defence, energy and mining and health sectors.

Working within a small team of business development professionals, you will have a detailed understanding of market demand and undertake viability assessments to ensure our customised education offering is ‘fit for purpose’ and meeting the demands of learners, as well as clients in industry, government, and the community.

Your personable nature and outstanding communication and networking skills will enable you to help build the brand presence of Professional and Continuing Education, by attending events and delivering presentations to a variety of stakeholders.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Demonstrated experience in business development, preferably in both private and public sectors, with demonstrated links to relevant organisations.
  • Demonstrated success in identifying revenue streams and increasing revenue.
  • Experience developing and delivering business plans, including financial planning and reporting.
  • Experience identifying market opportunities and undertaking market insight evaluations to assure the feasibility and viability of identified opportunities.
  • Knowledge of business development, tendering and identification of funding opportunities aligned to the University's activity. 
  • High level verbal and written communication skills, including experience negotiating contracts or service level agreements, and developing business proposals.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management skills and ability to bring proposals to fruition in complex environments.
  • Ability to meet deadlines; manage competing pressures and interests; and work with a team to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Experience with CRM management, data interpretation and report generation.
