As such, we are in a period of exciting and significant investment in our Faculty of Medicine and Health and in order to deliver on the University’s ambitious strategic plan, we are seeking a Senior Administration Officer and Centre Support to provide high level administrative and operational support to the senior faculty leadership team and faculty entity, centre, and institute leadership teams. You will be reporting to, and under the general direction of the Associate Director, Faculty Strategy and Research Partnerships.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • under the general direction of the Associate Director, Faculty Strategy and Research Partnerships, work closely with Senior faculty, entity, centre and institute leadership teams and liaise with various internal and external stakeholders

  • provide administrative and operational support to the relevant work areas, supporting deployment of activities that ensure the efficient and effective implementation of key initiatives and strategic operations across the portfolio

  • manage activities related to the operational governance model for faculty entities, centres and institutes and responsible for the development and implementation of standard faculty processes for the efficient and timely actioning of core activities

  • build and foster relationships with relevant key stakeholders and partners at both faculty and central portfolio level, manage stakeholder communications, ensuring effective collaboration and teamwork across the Faculty, University and externally

  • work under broad guidance and exercise independent judgement in the design and performance of research activities and tasks on established research project

About you

  • tertiary qualifications in business administration and/or equivalent relevant experience in business administration

  • strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement along with the capability to prioritise workload during busy periods

  • ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders

  • excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in handling a wide range of enquiries and providing exceptional customer service.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
