About the team

Campus Management is responsible for planning, designing, developing, and managing the University’s campus and property portfolio to support teaching, research and campus life. Campus Management delivers a range of university-wide services including strategic planning, property management, facilities operations, major projects and developments, sustainability, landscape, security and transport.

Within the Central Service Delivery Centre (SDC) sits Campus Management’s Maintenance and Operations team. The role shares accountability for the operational delivery of Campus Management services and its primary customers are the Central Units and the University’s estate.

About the opportunity

You will be responsible for the design, administration, and support of all UWA security technology systems, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency of operations to meet end-users and organisational requirements in compliance to the university’s policies and standards and relevant Australian standards.

You will be responsible for determining the security infrastructure to ensure an appropriate level of security risk mitigation. You will work with external vendors to implement agreed security installations and be responsible for testing completion of installs and compliance.

You will manage the structure of access control groups and provide both training and support across arrange of internal groups and stake holders.

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate :

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent competency
  • Relevant experience in the management of access control systems and access control groups and associated technologies
  • Experience and management expertise in technical fields involving electronic security systems
  • Considerable experience in developing and reviewing technical documentation
  • Experience in providing end-user training
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and high-level consultation and negotiation skills
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in a range of computing skills including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet, and email
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative and manage a substantial area
  • Considerable experience in project management of security installations

Note: A current National Police Clearance (NPC) is a requirement of this position.
