Research Services provides professional staff support services to the University's Research community in relation to competitive research funding/grant opportunities, research grant administration, applications and awards, research ethics, compliance and integrity management, research contract management and research related reporting and collections such as the Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA), and general and strategic advice to researchers and research leaders.

The Researcher Support Manager will be responsible for providing support to high profile researchers.  This will be facilitated by the development of long-term relationships with these researchers to provide stewardship of their research portfolios.  This role is responsible for managing the development and submission of major complex funding applications, including coordinating, project managing and enhancing applications, to deliver an increase in the scale and diversity of external research funding and impact for the University.

To be successful you will need:

  • Demonstrated ability to provide high quality advice and communicate with influence in relation to research grant administration.
  • Experience in management of a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure collaborative work practices, including engaging with high level stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated high-level conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A high level of self-motivation, initiative, creativity and sound judgement.
  • Proven experience in customer centric roles where innovative solutions were designed to enable positive outcomes including managing customer expectations and articulating service expectations.
  • Demonstrated ability to assist in the editing and development of research proposals and business plans.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks, plan actions and work well to tight (externally imposed) deadlines.
  • Qualifications:

    • Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or
    • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
