Fixed-term, part-time (0.6FTE) position available for 12 months

The Research Officer will join the Adelaide Exposure Science & Health group, located at Thebarton, and will be responsible for supporting a diverse range of research and industry engagement activities in the field of occupational and environmental health.

Working under general direction, the Research Officer will be responsible for support of day-to-day operations of the AESH research programs within the group. Duties include: support of the laboratory and field-based research component of various research projects, laboratory management (including ordering items, maintaining safety regulations, timetabling meetings for group members), processing collating and analyzing data, interpreting results and problem solving, maintaining records, and assisting with ethics applications.

The role requires excellent interpersonal and technical skills as well as initiative and personal drive for the provision of quality service and research output.  

To be successful you will need:

  • Experience in a research and laboratory environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Demonstrated initiative and drive to meet research outcomes by setting priorities and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with laboratory management and safety procedures.
