Research Associate:
The Research Associate will undertake research in under the broad direction of the Supervisor and Chief Investigator of the relevant research project/s. In working with the Chief Investigator and research team, the Research Associate will contribute to design, implementation (recruitment, testing etc), analysis of data, and dissemination of results.
The Research Associate will work collegially and contribute to the generation of high‐quality publications, conference presentations, and other outputs.
Research Fellow:
The Research Fellow will undertake research in under the broad direction of the Supervisor and Chief Investigator of the relevant research project/s. In working with the Chief Investigator and research team, the Research Fellow will contribute to design, implementation (recruitment, testing etc), analysis of data, and broad dissemination of results.
The Research Fellow will contribute to generation of high‐quality publications, and conference presentations, and other outputs. In addition, the position will contribute to the attraction of externally funded grants and assisting with supervision of higher degree research students.

Key Position Responsibilities

Research Associate

The Research Associate will be accountable for:

  • Actively contributing to the research project by collaborating with the Research Team to successfully deliver project milestones and Key Performance Indicators.

  • Contributing to the planning and execution of research by offering new and innovative ideas, reviewing relevant literature and other sources of information, actively participating in recruitment as well as the collection, entry, and storage of data, contributing to the preparation of grant applications and preparing for and attending seminars, meetings and conferences.

  • Assist in coordinating, planning and executing the project tasks required to collaborate with industry partners.

  • Contributing to ethical, high quality and innovative research and evaluation through activities such as applying for ethics approval, scholarship, publishing in recognised high quality publications (preferably Q1), external grant acquisition, community outreach activities, and broad dissemination of research findings (infographics, easy‐to‐read reports, social media accounts etc).

  • Supervision of Honours students.

  • Contributing to establishing and maintaining collaborations within the University, and at state, national and international levels in order to improve research outputs, patents and publications.

  • Some out of hours work (including weekends) as well as rural SA, interstate and overseas travel, may be required.

  • Any other responsibilities in line with the level of the position as assigned by the Supervisor and/or the University.

Research Fellow:

  • Supervision of Honours of post graduate research students (PhD and Masters students).

  • Establishing and maintaining collaborations within the University, and at state, national and international levels in order to improve research outputs, patents and publications.

  • Some out of hours work (including weekends) as well as rural SA, interstate and overseas travel, may be required.

  • Any other responsibilities in line with the level of the position as assigned by the Supervisor and/or the University.

  • Completion a PhD in health‐related discipline area (including but not restricted to speech pathology, audiology, special education, developmental or cognitive psychology).

  • Demonstrated research experience in terms of first author publications in high quality publications, and presentations at a national and/or international level.

  • Demonstrated experience in quantitative research methodology.

  • Demonstrated experience delivering project targets on time and within budget.

  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to planning and executing data collection, analysis, and storage.

  • An understanding of contemporary issues in health, especially the intersection of health, developmental disability, and education.

  • Demonstrated well‐developed interpersonal skills and experience in collaborating and engaging with diverse stakeholders. Experience working with children.

  • Demonstrated ability to critically review the literature in relevant fields.

  • Demonstrated experience contributing to collaborative and interdisciplinary.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in an academic environment.

  • Demonstrated ability (desirable) or interest in working in a multidisciplinary team using online applications.

Research Fellow:

  • Completion of a PhD in health‐related discipline area (including but not restricted to speech pathology, audiology, special education, developmental or cognitive psychology).

  • Previous experience as a postdoctoral research fellow.

  • Demonstrated research experience in terms of first author publications in high quality publications, attraction of competitive grants and presentations at a national and international level.

  • Demonstrated experience in qualitative and quantitative research methodology.

  • Demonstrated experience delivering project targets on time and within budget.

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute data collection, analysis, and storage.

  • An understanding of contemporary issues in health, especially the intersection of health, developmental disability, and education.

  • Demonstrated well‐developed interpersonal skills and experience in collaborating and engaging with diverse stakeholders in a range of settings (schools, clinics, homes etc). Experience working with children over several years.

  • Demonstrated ability to critically review the literature in relevant fields.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead collaborative interdisciplinary research.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in an academic environment.
