Your new role
 
With the ongoing success of the implementation science fellowship, we are seeking an experienced Research Assistant with an enthusiastic passion for Implementation Science (IS) and Digital Innovation to join the Curtin enAble Institute and WA Country Health Service.
This Research Assistant position is funded by the WA Department of Health Future Health Research and Innovation Fund (FHRI) and will work with the Research Fellow, as part of the fellowship project team, to build the capacity in implementation science research and practice across WA health. The grant funding is a partnership with WA Country Health Service.
The Research Assistant will receive guidance in implementation science and be mentored by a leading implementation scientist; A/Prof Joanna Moullin, and Digital Innovation by research fellow; Richard Varhol.
To be successful in this role, you will have knowledge and experience in implementation science (not necessary), including theories, research methods, and outcomes, and/or digital innovation. Experience in stakeholder engagement, including health consumers, is desirable as you will be required to organise and coordinate meetings with stakeholders and consumers in WACHS regions, as well as collect both qualitative and quantitative data with a range of stakeholders in various settings. A working knowledge of an Australian Health System (not necessarily in WA) would be an advantage.
Role

As Research Assistant, your role will see you work closely with Implementation Fellow Richard Varhol and Associate Professor Joanna Moulin to support a range of research tasks, including:

  • Coordinate requirements, and prepare materials for research activities/experiments/field trips.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders and participants to arrange activities.
  • Conduct interviews and focus groups and/or contribute to research activities in accordance with the skills required of the position.
  • Undertake literature and systematic reviews.
  • Lead with the preparation of project updates and reports.
  • Undertake data collection, including transcription and preliminary analysis.
  • Track project timeline, milestones, and budget.
  • Assist with the drafting of progress reports and publications.
  • Assist with the preparation of materials and organisation for conference presentations and workshops.
  • Facilitate input and updating of research information/activity in relevant databases.
  • Liaise with relevant internal and external stakeholders as necessary.
  • Comply and adhere to Occupational Health and Safety criteria at all times.
  • Comply with national and state legislation and regulations relevant to the research area’s activities and University requirements
We Are Looking For Someone With:
  • Completion of a relevant degree or equivalent combination of experience and education/training.
  • Demonstrated experience in scientific/research methods, techniques, and protocols.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills for data collation and analysis.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, with the ability to liaise with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Competency in word processing and spreadsheet packages, including report generation.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team.
